Truly unique story for a Canon camera lost in the ocean and discovered more than a year later. Obviously the camera wasn’t working, but the photos on the SanDisk Card were intact. Thanks to the Google+ community the owner of the camera was found and the rusty camera returned.

The new must have lens starts to pop-up here and there, for instance as preorder at Adorama. It is supposed to have improved glass elements, faster auto focusing and better image stabilization than the previous 70-200/2.8 IS and we’re sure the new edition wouldn’t disappoint.

Canon EOS 550D – as everyone had expected, we have Full HD video, more (18) mpx, and 63-point iFCL metering system like the EOS 7D, in a small package. Somewhat pricey, though.
PowerShot SX210 IS – very stylish available in different body colors, 720p video, 14mpx and the latest DIGIC 4 processor, what else can you want from a compact camera. Maybe a nice hiding built-in flash like s90, wait you have it too.
Digital IXUS 210 – touchscreen with gestures and 720p video recording, 5x zoom(24 – 120mm) in our pockets.
IXUS 130 & IXUS 105 – the smallest in the series, and available in vivid colours, both feature 4x zoom, but only 130 could capture 720p video, the 105 model is limited to 640×480@30fps

Well that’s good news for everyone I think.

Adobe has launched Photoshop Camera Raw 5.6, Lightroom 2.6 and DNG Converter 5.6 for immediate download. So the owners of new Canons are now officially supported in Adobe’s software. Here’s the list:

There are rumors on the internet, about a new flagship camera from Canon sporting some extraordinary 35×35mm sensor. This sure sounds more “professional” than most shooters ever wanted to be. But really, why not compete with the “medium” guys. We’ve already seen what the cropped 7D is capable of.

Pro printing

It is possible with the newest canon photo printers. At first we thought it was hard, or expensive, but Canon Pixma PRO9000MkII Inkjet Photo Printer completely changed our minds. So, what’s good and bad about it?

Pros :

Fast – This printer spits out a vibrant and full of color 13×19 glossy print in under 3 minutes 30 seconds.

Quiet – I can print at all hours of the night and not worry about waking anyone up. When Im in the next room with the door open the printer prints so quiet I cant even hear it and have to come check on the print job to make sure it didnt crash since I cant hear any noise in the next room..lol

Quality – Prints professional quality prints on a variety of papers in many different sizes.

Paper – You ARE NOT limited to Canon papers as you can use a bunch of other manufacturers papers. My Favorite thus far is Ilford (cheap from amazon and is basically identical to expensive Canon paper).

Ink Usuage – Good on ink, Not really an ink guzzler. I printed dozens and dozens of 4×6′s and even a bunch of 8×11′s and 13x19s and the ink kept going and going, until I finaly started running low (after many prints had been printed).

Cons :

B&W printing – Prints mediocre black and white prints. This is no secret and I knew this before I bought it. I dont care about black and white prints just color so its all good for me.

Size – This is a big mamma-jamma. You will have to dedicate a space to this thing because of its width.

CD Printing – The US version of this printer does not print to CD’s at all and there are no hacks that enable the CD printing feature (Like with the Pixma Pro 9000). If you need CD printing, just print to photo quality CD labels.

Overal: This is a fantastic buy. If you need professional quality color prints done in house you will surely love this printer. Canon outdid itself with this model…
